Thank you for writing this! Many do not realize how important other people's perspectives are. One event can happen, and if several people witness it, each person can recall it differently depending on which parts they remember. It is also important to put yourself into other people's shoes and see what they have to deal with before you judge them. I think this article really helped people open their eyes and realize that everyone interprets things differently.

I especially like the thoughts in your second to last paragraph. I completely agree that if we do not understand something, we see how other people think and base our ideas off of theirs usually. This technique of social interaction is just like being in a play. This technique would represent the way actors respond to cues given be other actors. While we cannot always effectively use our own experiences to make sense of what goes on around us, we can base our feelings off of others, which isn't always a good thing. Negative feelings and thoughts toward something can come out in someone's perspective and seep in to ours as well; so this theory can be good and in some cases, potentially bad.

Kristyn L.

I like this because it is very true. Many people do generalize things to make sense of them. Older people always tell stories of, "Back in my day," because they connect things with their own experiences. People who see the world only through their own experiences will miss opportunities to make new ones. We live in a very stereotypical society today. People make judgements all the time without even knowing the person.

I appreciate you writing about this, because it is the truth that people are known to generalize about a situation rather than experience it in their own perspective. This could be applied in many situations to create potentially very bad outcomes; Discrimination, even potential fear to experience something, all of which happen in our current society...
